Have you ever wanted to attend a professional or academic conference? Do you have a paper you would like to present at a national meeting? Would you like to expand your networking opportunities? Are the travel expenses too costly? The S-CAP program is for you!
The Student Conference Award Program (S-CAP) is designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to obtain funding to attend an academic or professional conference in their field of study. The maximum award is $600.00 and may include: round trip travel, lodging, airport shuttle or taxi fees, and conference registration fees.
We begin accepting applications one (1) month prior to the first day of instruction for each semester. Applications should be submitted a minimum of one (1) month prior to your conference start date, however to avoid being placed on a waiting list it is highly recommended that you turn it in the first day we begin accepting them. We will not accept early submissions. Additionally, we do not accept applications for conferences you have already attended.

Applicants will be notified of funding decisions approximately 1 month after the application is submitted for review.

In compliance with the UNM Travel Policy 4030 and UNM Foreign Nationals Policy 2180, all visiting Foreign National students must reflect that their travels are for official University business. Allowable University business purposes are as follows,
•Presenting a paper or making a poster presentation.
•Required for completion of their degree
