Event Description

The UNM fair is an afternoon/evening event which provides current student teachers an opportunity to attend at the close of the teaching day. Recruiter sign-in and booth set up will begin at 1:00 PM. The walk-through career fair will be open to job seeker traffic from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Recruiters are free to visit with candidates throughout the 2:00 to 6:00 PM format.

To help you maximize your recruitment effort, we have coordinated with regional schools in a circuit-style schedule. The University of Texas at El Paso will host their teacher job fair on April 19, 2008. New Mexico State University (Las Cruces) will hold their event on April 21 & 22, 2008.

Registration Fee

Registration fee is $300.00 per table and includes booth space w/seating for two, VIP parking for one vehicle (no in-out privileges), and catering for up to two recruiters.

Registrations after April 4, 2008 are subject to approval of the career fair coordinator, Mary Montaño, 505-277-9145.

Registration cancellations within 30 days of the event date are subject to a $100.00 administrative fee. There will be no refunds for cancellations after April 13, 2008.

Registration includes parking for one vehicle in the parking structure (no in-out privileges). Parking for additional vehicles is $15.00.

Meals

We are offering a traditional catered buffet for the evening meal which will be available from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

Booth Size

Tables are 6-feet wide with space and chairs for 2 recruiters. If you plan to bring additional recruiters, we ask that you purchase an additional table.

Electricity

Electrical outlets can be provided at an additional fee of $50.00 at the time of registration. If electrical outlets are requested on the day of the event, there will be a charge of $75.00.

Driving Directions

Directions to the University of New Mexico from the Albuquerque International Airport or any of the hotels on Yale Blvd:
Airport car rental shuttles provide transportation between the terminal building and the Car Rental Center located at 3400 University Blvd SE. Shuttles run every 5 minutes from the commercial lane located outside the 1st level of the airport terminal building. Once you have picked up your vehicle at the rental area, drive north on University Blvd. The street curves east to become Randolph. At the traffic signal at Randolph and Yale Blvd, turn left, heading north on Yale. Campus is a 5-7 minute drive from that intersection.

Enter campus at Yale and Central to Redondo Drive. Turn right, heading east. The multi-level parking structure is on the north side of the street, across from the UNM Bookstore.

Parking

Parking is very closely monitored on our campus. Please park in Visitor Parking only. We cannot be responsible for tickets or towing if you choose to park outside the visitor lot. Bring your parking stub to the recruiter sign-in table so we can validate. Registration includes parking for one vehicle in the parking structure (no in-out privileges). Parking for additional vehicles is $15.00.

Directions to the Student Union Building (SUB) from Visitor Parking

From the Visitor Lot, walk north, Popejoy Hall will be on your left. The SUB will also be on your left, Building #60 on the campus map available on the UNM website. The ballroom is located in the northwest corner of the building. Watch for our signs with balloons to direct you to the fair!

Unloading/Loading

Students will be available to help with unloading/loading at entrance to the parking structure from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. They will be available in the ballroom beginning at 6:00 PM to help you return your material to your vehicle at the end of the event.

Employer Sign-In

Once you have unloaded your displays and other materials, proceed to the Student Union building to check in at the Recruiter Sign-in table for directions to your assigned space.
